Georgia Coyote Challenge Begins March 1, 2018

The Georgia Coyote Challenge is coming back for the 2nd year. It begins March 1, 2018. This year, entering will be even easier, and participants can earn up to 10 entries in three separate drawings.

Pro Roof GA

The best available science shows that the lethal removal of coyotes during spring-summer is most effective for reducing negative impacts on native wildlife due to coyote predation which is why the challenge is focused on March through August. Coyotes can be hunted and trapped year-round and this program is part of an overall education and awareness effort by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

To enter all you have to do is snap a picture of your coyote with your phone as soon as you recover the carcass. Email that picture from your phone to coyote.challenge@dnr.ga.gov. Photos should include the entire, intact carcass; any photo of an ear-notched coyote, obvious roadkill or clearly old/rotten carcass will be disqualified. You’ll receive an autoreply with a link to the entry form so be sure to include your email address when you fill out the entry form.
