3 Reasons to Stay at St Simons Inn by the Lighthouse

Visitors to the island know that there is a variety of lodging options available. Rooms through the local Air B&B, cottages and local hotels can be found through a quick Internet search. For location, quality and comfort, look no further than the Inn by the Lighthouse.

Location, location, location

St. Simons Inn by the Lighthouse is located just a block or two from the Pier and is  centrally-located for all the activities, shopping and dining with Pier Village. Park your car once, rent a bike or a golf cart and let that be your transportation for the duration of your stay. Traveling the old-fashioned way, on foot, is also quite popular.

As the name suggests, the St Simons Inn by the Lighthouse is directly across the street from the lighthouse museum. Take a few steps across Beachview Drive and you have arrived at the museum entrance. After ascending and descending the 104-foot-tall lighthouse, just a few more steps will lead to Neptune Park. Mini-golf, a water park and picnic tables under the huge live oaks make Neptune Park a fun stop. Take a stroll down the beachfront-sidewalk and use the Pier steps to get a closer look at the waves.

The Pier is just on the other side of Neptune Park, and is a local’s hangout of artists, fishermen and the occasional musician. Mallery Street leads to the Pier and is full of restaurants, shops, trolley tours and even a ghost tour.

Comforts of Home

In addition to comfortable and modern rooms and suites, the Inn serves up a nice continental breakfast each morning, and offers fresh coffee and infused water in the lobby throughout the day. Discounted tickets to area attractions are also available. Spend some time relaxing in the outdoor pool. Traveling with a dog? Ask for a pet-friendly room, but keep in mind these rooms aren’t accessible by the elevator.

The rooms are all comfortable, but for more space, consider one of their suites. The Penthouse was great when we stayed there. A short flight of stairs led to a large living room and dining area. The balcony is where my teen spent most of her time.

Next to the cleanliness of a room, the politeness of the employees is what reviewers post comments about. The reviews of the staff are in high-quality, and rightfully so. They are knowledgeable about the area, and are friendly and helpful with their answers and advice.
