This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to deserving employees selected by the hospital’s directors.

Dr. Joe Joyave joins Gordon Hospital as chief medical officer

Gordon Hospital, a member of Adventist Health System, is pleased to announce that Joe Joyave, MD, will join the administrative team as co-chief medical officer of the hospital and chief medical officer of Gordon Physicians Group. In his new position, Dr. Joyave will lead the clinical initiatives for Gordon Hospital along with Dr. Max Parrott, his co-chief medical officer. He will provide administrative leadership to the hospital-owned clinics and employed physicians. Dr. Joyave will also give administrative support to the hospitalist program.

Hundreds expected gather for Walk MS Rome April 9 at Berry

Many teams and individuals are expected to raise more than $35,399 to stop MS in its tracks, restore what has been lost and end MS forever at the 2016 Walk MS Rome taking place on April 9, 2016 at the Berry College campus. Walk MS is an opportunity for people living with MS and those who care about them to connect, join together, be inspired and raise critical funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

One of Floyd County's newest eating establishments is off to a bad start with the health department, failing its latest health inspection with a score of 55 (grade U). Restaurant J.R. Crickets located at 201 Broad Street recently opened, serving a variety of food including wings, ribs, wraps, along with drinks.
