UPDATE 6/20/18- The Kingsland Police Department said that no arrests have been made. Kingsland Police are being inundated with media communications from around the nation. The state coroner has confirmed the infant died of hyperthermia.
A 7-month-old infant boy died after being left in a hot car near the Quality Inn Motel in Kingsland, Georgia.
Around 2:24 pm on Tuesday, a report was made to the Kingsland Police Department about the infant’s death.
The Kingsland Police Department are still investigating and have arrested no suspects related to the infant’s death. Kingsland police say it is unknown if the child and caregivers were staying at the motel or just parked there. The victim’s name has not been released.
Kingsland Police said the following in a written statement on Tuesday evening –
“We are attempting to handle the investigation with the utmost sensitivity and care out of respect for the family as possible to ensure the integrity of our investigation. Dealing with an infant death is hard enough for a family to deal with or without added stress from publicity.”
