Press release from Camden County Sheriff’s Office sent out on 6/22/2018
On June 21st, 2018 at approximately 9:00 PM the Camden County E 911 Center received a call that the body of a female had been dumped in the area of Exit 7 on Interstate 95 in Camden County, Georgia. Deputies began a search of the area while additional information was being gathered.
The call came from State Officers from The Florida Agriculture Inspection Station that is located on Interstate 75 in north Florida. The State Officer said a man walked into the Inspection Station and said that he would be wanted for killing his girlfriend, and the body would be found in the river near exit 7 in Camden County.
At daybreak on June 22, 2018 Law Enforcement Officers from The Camden County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Camden County Emergency Management personnel, Florida State Officers from The Agricultural Inspection Station began searching the marshes and waterways along Crooked River, which is located between Interstate 95 exits 6 and 7.
A Georgia Department of Natural Resources Helicopter joined the search and the crew members spotted a body in the edge of the marsh west of the Interstate 95 Crooked River Bridge. Camden County Deputies, Camden County Emergency Management Personnel, and Georgia Department of Natural Resource Officers were able to recover the body of a white female at approximately 10:30 am.
Investigators from Hernando County, Florida have arrived in Camden County to assist with the investigation. Investigators from Camden County, Georgia, and Hernando County Florida, will continue the joint investigation of this death.
No names of the victim or suspect were released in the media report to the press. No other information is available at this time regarding this investigation.

The Hernando County’s Sheriff’s Office Released a similar posting today about a woman’s body found in Camden County.
