On April 9, Bulloch County Schools’ principals and Central Office leadership and staff showed their support for the Teal House, the region’s Sexual Assault Crisis and Child Advocacy Center, by participating in the Wear A Pair campaign. Each of the 13 participants wore a pair of red or black high-heel shoes for a social media photograph and fundraising opportunity.
The Wear A Pair campaign is a companion fundraiser to the Walk A Mile, which was held at Georgia Southern University on April 2. The principals and Central Office employees donated $435 to the cause, which included the $20 entry fee for each participant plus additional donations. All of the proceeds go to the Teal House’s local advocacy and prevention efforts.
The school system is developing a partnership with the Teal House to discuss ways it can help better protect students and employees from rape sexual assault and gender violence and facilitate support for victims.
